Textile Care Instructions
To keep your Tera Vida pieces looking beautiful for as long as possible, I recommend gentle care.
Best option: spot clean
- Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap
- Let air dry completely
If you need to wash:
- Cold wash only (max 30°C)
- Hand wash is best, or use a gentle cycle in the washing machine
- Place the item in a laundry bag to protect the shape
- Use a mild detergent
- Wash with similar colors
Important notes (color + size):
Because many fabrics are colorful and/or patterned, I cannot guarantee that colors won’t bleed or transfer during machine washing. Washing can also cause slight shrinkage or changes in shape, especially with natural fabrics. Gentle washing helps maintain the colors, size, and fit.
Drying:
- Do not tumble dry
- Gently reshape while damp and air dry flat (or hang carefully)
Ironing (if needed):
- Use low to medium heat
- Avoid ironing directly on labels, hardware, or any delicate details
Candle Care Instructions
To get the best burn (and the cozy crackle), a little care goes a long way.
1) Trim the wooden wick
- Before each burn, trim the wooden wick to about 3–5 mm.
- Remove the black, charred part (it should snap off easily once cooled).
- For a clean, easy trim, you can use our wooden wick scissors—made to reach into the jar and keep the wick at the perfect length.
2) Let the first burn melt to the edges
- On the first burn, let the wax melt all the way to the sides (around 1–3 hours).
- This helps prevent tunneling and keeps future burns even.
3) Burn time
- Burn for 2–4 hours at a time.
- If the flame gets too high or smoky: extinguish, let cool, trim the wick, and relight.
4) Keep it safe
- Always place your candle on a heat-safe surface.
- Keep away from drafts, flammable objects, children, and pets.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Stop burning when about 1 cm of wax remains.
